Moena - Alpe Lusia - Moena

Demanding tour that features 1,000 metres of elevation gain only in the first stretch from Moena to Alpe Lusia, facing the arduous climb of Le Cune.

From the centre of Moena ("Piaz de Sotegrava" square), go up "Strada de Longiarif". Leave the municipal road and continue on dirt road until reconnecting with Passo San Pellegrino’s state road, at the track overpass of Lusia’s return slope. Cross the road and take the well-beaten forest road on the right, which climbs, with constant gradient, to La Rezila hut. After about 2 km, at the crossroads, turn right and reach the gondola’s mid-station and Chalet Valbona hut. From here, the route rises with a major elevation gain. Reach "Le Cune" area, at 2000 m. A brief flat stretch heralds the descent, along the ski slope, towards Passo Lusia and the hut of the same name, with peaks of 32%. Continue descending along the forest road until approaching La Rezila hut. At the first cabins, slow down and take path no. 625, off to the right. With easy hairpin bends, climb up the opposite side of the valley and peek over Colvere’s pastures. Proceed on undemanding route for a long stretch. Ignore the junctions and stay on the forest road, until coming across the road "Le Tenebre", which comes from "Ronchi". Follow it southwards, flanking the stream’s orographic left. Long, flat or slightly downhill, stretches are interrupted by three rather steep ramps. At the bridge, cross the main road and take, on the opposite side of the stream, the path leading to the valley station of "Lusia" gondola. Continue on the agricultural road that connects "Ronchi" with the settlement of Someda. Pass through the hamlet and return along the municipal road to the town centre.
