Luserna - Roana Cycle and Pedestrian Path
A nearly 30 km cycle and pedestrian path that starts from the center of Lusèrn, along the Cimbrian ridge, and reaches Roana, crossing forests, vast alpine pastures, and numerous mountain huts. Along the route, you may encounter local wildlife—marmots, hares, and deer—and sample typical regional products.
Upon reaching Malga Millegrobbe (1412 m a.s.l.), you will cross grazing areas that bear witness to episodes from the Great War; among trenches and alpine ponds, the sentinels of the high pastures, the marmots, can be found. There are several mountain huts along the route, including Malga Millegrobbe di sopra, Malga Basson di sopra, Malga Busa Bisletto, Malga Costesin, Malga Camporosà, Casara Mandrielle, Casara di Campolongo, and Malga Gruppach. Along the way, you can stop at Malga Millegrobbe and Casara di Campolongo to taste typical local dishes or relax in wellness centers overlooking the pastures. After passing the Campolongo area, you descend along Monte Erio by taking the military road that leads to the lake of Roana (1096 m a.s.l.). This itinerary is particularly suitable for families, with opportunities to stop at the mountain huts along the way to enjoy locally sourced products.
