From Passo San Valentino to Monte Altissimo, among huts and refuges
Medium-difficulty ascent among the vast meadows and slopes of Trentino's Monte Baldo, with rest and refreshment points at various traditional alpine huts and refuges
A not-too-demanding hike that touches on various dining activities on the route, leaving ample choice to the hiker as to where to stop to enjoy the tradition: in order of meeting Baita del Trett, Rifugio Baita Fos-Ce, Albergo Graziani, Rifugio Damiano Chiesa.
Four excellent refreshment spots that embrace authentic local cuisine, surrounded by unique natural landscapes, each with a different point of view.

Also encountered on the route are typical stone-roofed mountain pasture huts, shelter for livestock and shepherds but also areas of milk and dairy production (e.g. Malga Bès, Malga Canalece and Malga Tolghe).

In late spring the trail offers its best, accompanying the walker among numerous species of flowers and plants that characterize this area of Mount Baldo, known for hundreds of years as the “Garden of Europe” precisely because of the presence of an incredible variety of biodiversity, easily visible in the multitude of different flowers that color the passage.

In the early morning or towards dusk it is not difficult to encounter wild animals along the way, especially in the Bès - Corna Piana nature reserve.

Once the route is completed, one will be confronted with a breathtaking panorama, with the entire alpine arc in the distance, with Lake garda at one's feet and the Upper Garda valley on the northern shore: the view ranges from the Dolomites to the Po valley.

The return can be made by the same convenient route, or by varying it by descending with the SAT path O622 (which in its entirety leads back to San Giacomo) to Malga Campo and then re-entering with the SAT path O650 to Malga Bes and then choosing whether to descend quickly to San Valentino on the exposed and equipped section for experienced hikers (hence the name “Sentiero delle Vipere”), or to return on the more comfortable and safe route of the outward journey through the pastures of Corna Piana.
