Dragon Path - Drago Vaia Regeneration - Departure from Frazione Bertoldi
Discover the largest wooden dragon in Europe!
A work by the Venetian sculptor Marco Martalar in the locality of Magrè.

Forged from the ashes of the Dragon Vaia, the new dragon has returned to Lavarone! With its 6 tons of charred wood, 16 meters in length, and 7 in height, it is the largest wooden dragon sculpture in the world. Made from the roots of the Vaia storm, it carries the memory of what happened to its predecessor. The pieces of wood are completely charred, deliberately burned by the artist Martalar, and together with the remnants of the fire, they reconstruct the new work. The work has a less docile connotation than the previous Dragon because it also needs to tell something different and diverse. This new Dragon is not just a guardian warning about the relationship between humans and nature, but it is a keeper of memory, of stories, a symbol of rebirth and resilience, reminding us humans to always remain humble before Mother Nature.
From Frazione Bertoldi, follow the signs to Magre Tablat, and once you arrive at Tana Incantata, follow the signs for the Dragon Path (a route of about 45 minutes).

If you want to save time, you can take the chairlift in Bertoldi, which saves you 30 minutes of walking, and then follow the signs for the Dragon Path.
