Lake Andalo
The lake that doesn't exist: Andalo boasts a seasonal lake, the only one of its kind in the region
At a short walk from the town centre, Lake Andalo is a periodic reservoir of karst origin and primary natural interest. Water flows in during the spring from a number of natural 'funnels', it fills the depression carved in limestone, and disappears underground in times of drought.
Lake Andalo - located near the town park 'Andalo Life Park' - is also appreciated for the 2.5 km path around its shores and is the perfect place for an easy walk in the nature park Adamello-Brenta (even with strollers!); it's also a possible training route for runners willing to test themselves at some altitude, but still along a flat and paved track.
Near the path and Lake Andalo tour there is also a beautiful dirt road of about 3 km in the woods. Through forests of larch trees the road connects the park of Andalo to the beautiful resort of Priori, in the municipality of Cavedago, that also hosts the restaurant 'Tana dell'Ermellino'. You can also enjoy this easy and flat path, beloved by families with strollers, also in a suggestive excursion on a horse-drawn carriage; horse-carriage tours can be booked at the riding stables of Andalo, just next to the lake.
