Ortles – Cevedale
A symbol of mountaineering, the Ortles-Cevedale group is characterised by its wild nature. You can practice skiing or venture into a climb suited to your abilities.
Spread over an area of about 50 kilometers by 40 that almost completely comprises the Stelvio National Park, the Ortles-Cevedale is one of the richest alpine groups of glaciers: up to 19. With its many peaks over 3,500 metres above sea level, the area has always been a reference point for summer skiing, which is very popular on the Stelvio Pass, and mountaineering. The Ortles routes (3,905 meters), first climbed in 1804, have always been a considerable attraction for climbers who appreciate their wild character. If your mountaineering preparation is not enough to try the most rugged routes, you can still dedicate yourself to one of the less demanding minor peaks, perhaps in the company of the valley guides. The presence of shelters was significant.
