Designed as an open-air museum, the Val Meledrio Ecomuseo within the Adamello Brenta Nature Park in Dimaro Folgarida encapsulates the valley’s historic and cultural roots. Travel on foot or by mountain bike to discover an ancient world characterised by a flourishing local industry in the production of lime and other resources like iron, timber and charcoal. The trail begins in Dimaro, with the church of San Lorenzo and its 16th-century bell tower. Other notable stops include the Venetian Sawmill; the “Fosinace”, or forges, where iron-work took place; the “Calcara”, an ancient limekiln; and the “Doss di Santa Brigida”, where the ruins of a refuge named after the saint, used by travellers and pilgrims, have been found.
