Segheria di Malè
A monument to the power of water and an ancient craft that marked the history of the valley. Still working perfectly, the sawmill evokes an epic that has lasted for hundreds of years.
The ancient art of cutting logs and the tradition of turning are still evoked today in this ancient Venetian sawmill of the "hydraulic" era. The system, which exploited the driving force provided by the water, is still working! Built in 1774 by the Zanini family, the Segheria Veneziana in Malè houses a small hydraulic wheel that was thrusting at 95 litres per second feeding the production system. Visiting the building you can discover the secrets of an ancient practice rich in history, while discovering the different types of wood used, each with its own peculiar characteristics.
