Osservatorio Astronomico Monte Zugna
Look at the sky in the silence of Monte Zugna, a 40-minute drive from the centre of Rovereto
Active since 1997, the Astronomical Observatory is located on Monte Zugna, at 1,620 meters above sea level, in an area not contaminated by light pollution. The structure is managed by the Civic Museum of Rovereto Foundation on behalf of the Municipality. The favorable conditions and the present instrumentation make the structure suitable to carry out both activities to a general public, and research activities, involving from time to time different realities and entities: from the Astronomical Association of Rovereto to scholars and experts who work on various issues related to the sky and space. The Observatory has a dome of 4 meters in diameter in which there are 3 telescopes and is equipped with a solar telescope (celostat), which allows you to observe the solar disk, its spots (if any) and the spectrum of sunlight.
HIGHLIGHT
Both during the summer and winter months, the Civic Museum Foundation of Rovereto organizes other activities for the calendar audience, such as observations of the day sky or theme evenings.
