Museo della Grande Guerra in Valle del Chiese
A rich collection of war material, uniforms and relics recovered from the Adamello glaciers. It was set up in 1991 by a group of volunteers and enthusiastic hunters.
The reconstruction of an Italian high-mountain hut and the entrance of an Austro-Hungarian tunnel used as a shelter and warehouse for the troops: you can discover this and much more at the Museum of the Great War in Valle del Chiese. It was set up in July 1991 by a group of volunteers and passionate researchers, to exhibit the finds left by soldiers from all over the world, who fought here. The research activity was carried out along two strands: on the one hand, numerous documents were consulted at the Stato Maggiore dell 'Esercito in Rome. On the other hand, there was a real hunt for finds on the mountains: from the Garda, with the Prealpi Ledrensi, to the Adamello. In the rooms, weapons, field kitchens, bunks, sledges, skis, sniper shields, uniforms, bottles and inkwells, gas masks.
