Haus Von Prükk House Museum
A farmhouse in the centre of Luserna, where the ancient Cimbrian language is still spoken. A living museum of popular tradition, where tales of the past live again.
“Casa Museo Haus von Prükk” is housed in a 19th-century Cimbrian peasant dwelling restored by the Kulturinstitut Lusérn. Its two buildings are made from limestone blocks, distinct in type and constructed in different eras: one with three floors, one with four. The tour begins with livestock equipment in the stalls, then food preservation materials in the cellars, followed by a kitchen with a little open hearth and a bedroom decorated with bobbin lace. Afterwards, stroll the idyllic “Sentiero Cimbro dell’Immaginario” trail of Cimbrian legends: Sambinélo, Frau Pèrtega and the Basilisk, along with other characters and wooden sculptures by local artists, accompany kids and grown-ups through woods and meadows where pathways are marked out by dry stone walls.
