Misaki Kawai - Fluffy Paws
First solo show in Italy
From Japan to Trento, passing through Copenhagen, Misaki Kawai, an artist recognized for her joyful and ironic language, exhibits her first solo show in Italy.
“Fluffy Paws” is the title chosen for the series of works and sculptures created specifically for this show, which reveals an intense light-heartedness and a peculiar communicative ability. The artist’s dense pictorial frame opens up onto an imaginary world that only apparently seems childish and dreamlike, while indeed it is wholly immersed in the contemporary world and is the spokesperson for a new multicultural syntax made up of words, symbols and every- day scenarios.
The characters that move in the domestic environments created by Misaki Kawai are as soft as her sculptures. Plush and puppets move their “fluffy paws” in a humanized world, responding to an educational ideal and a very specific aesthetic code. Opening in presence of the artist on Thursday 16 December. On the occasion of the exhibition, a catalog will be published.
