CircenVillagge in Soraga with the "PopCorner"
As part of the Circen Dolomites Festival, circus games and aperitif on the large lawn in front of the church
From Wednesday, 31 July to Friday, 2 August, the lawn in front of the church in Soraga will be transformed into a sort of artistic arena in which to watch entertaining circus acts, able to thrill young and old alike, as long as they are curious... yes, because the circus is capable of providing ageless emotions! This evening the programme includes the opening of the CircenVillage and the play area at 6 p.m., followed by a musical aperitif-dinner in the company of the "PopCorners".
The "PopCorner" are a group of young musicians and singers from the valley, born from "Cianton da Maravea", the musical project launched in 2019 by the valley social cooperative "INOUT". The formation, created in 2023, aims to write unreleased songs in the Ladin language, addressing different themes, including deep and topical ones, dear to all seven members of the group. Their journey began with writing and production courses precisely in order to move away from the mere performance of covers. The female voices of Sabrina Calligari and her sisters Melany and Mery Locatin, together with Gianpaolo Chiocchetti on guitar, Nicolò Dorich on bass, Daniele Chiocchetti on keyboards and Tommaso Dondio on drums range between different musical genres, interpreted in a modern key. The name is curious. It is made up of two words: "corner" and "pop", which in addition to identifying a precise style means child in Ladin. Their first album will be released soon.
After the success of the past editions, in summer 2024 "Circen Dolomites Festival" comes back. For a whole week, and to be more precise from 26 July to 2 August, Val di Fassa hosts prominent street artists and good international jugglers. Squares, museums, but also high-altitude locations, turn into exceptional stages for astonishing performances, both in ability and creativity. The festival is organised by Fassa’s group of jugglers "Circensema", founded in 2017 in partnership with the local association "Inout", which for some years has been practising the circus art and also training, together with professionals, some teenagers that perform in a few shows throughout the year, juxtaposing juggling and theatre.
