The "Allegory of Public Happiness" exhibition starts from Thursday 28 March to Sunday 30 June 2024 at the Civic Gallery of Trento.
The exhibition addresses the theme of public happiness, understood as the urgency of the individual to go beyond his own private interest with the aim of the collective good.
Through a interpenetration of eras, subjects, and cultural matrices, the exhibition promotes the coexistence of artistic research that questions happiness not only as a principle of self-determination of the person but as a public interest. Between social rites and cultural languages, curators and artists invite us to experiment with new forms of sociality and to conceive public happiness as a condition of well-being achievable through daily practices of resistance and active participation.
Artists: Mounira Al Solh, Hangama Amiri, Gianfranco Baruchello, Mirella Bentivoglio, Alighiero Boetti, Piermario Ciani, Betty Danon, Gino De Dominicis, Hannes Egger, Anna Esposito, Daniel Gonzalez, Diango Hernandez, Tamara Janes, Eva Koťátková, Barbara Kruger, Ketty La Rocca, Mohamed-Ali Ltaief, Yarema Malashchuk & Roman Himey, Lucia Marcucci, Jacopo Mazzonelli, Alina McDonald, Bruno Munari, Jackson Nkumanda, Anna Oberto, Ahmet Öğüt, Ozmo, Pietro Terzini, The Living Theatre, Chiara Ventura, Zapruder and others.
The exhibition is included in the Trento European Capital of Volunteering 2024 programme and includes, in addition to the exhibition in the spaces of the Civic Gallery, a panel of projects on the territory (performances, public art interventions, workshops).
