UCI MTB Enduro & E-enduro World Championships
First ever edition for this mountain biking format that, since its debut in the UCI MTB World Cup in 2023, will award the World Champion titles in Canazei in the enduro and e-enduro disciplines, male and female
12-15 September, Canazei, Dolomites. It will be Val di Fassa to inaugurate the Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships, organised by Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports. Although the discipline has evolved significantly over the last ten years, in Val di Fassa riders can experience the authentic character of enduro, characterised by physical and technical descents and substantial gradients. From 2019, Canazei will host high-level competitions, including a stage of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series in 2023. The race course is the Fassa Bike District, between the areas of "Ciampac" (Alba di Canazei), "Belvedere" (Canazei) and "Col Rodella" (Campitello). Inevitably, there will also be news on the routes, which, according to the regulations, will only be revealed a few hours before the start. One of the most iconic enduro trails in the world remains the "Tutti Frutti", from "Col Rodella" to Campitello, with 6.5 km in length and almost 1000 metres of altitude difference.
The best 400 professional riders on the planet will compete over the weekend to win the four gold medals up for grabs, respectively in the men's and women's categories, with muscular and electric mountain bikes. The programme of events surrounding the races is also extensive and will give fans the opportunity to experience their passion to the full. The heart of the event is the "Ciasates" area, near the "Dòlaondes" aquatic centre, with Village, Team Paddock and Expo Area, while the opening ceremony will take place in the square of Canazei. Among other things, this area is close to the "Canazei-Pecol" gondola, a strategic lift for watching the race from the edge of the piste. In fact, the Fassa competition is one of the few on the calendar to allow the public to access the EDR and E-EDR special stages even at high altitude, thanks to cable cars and chairlifts that offer a privileged view of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites from the very start.
