MolaFunk
The 27th edition of Dolomiti Ski Jazz lands on the slopes of Belvedere di Canazei with the groove of Stefano Eccher: a journey through original pieces, arrangements and funk classics
From 7 to 16 March, the "jazz track" crosses the valleys of Fassa and Fiemme with concerts on the terraces of the refuges, in clubs, theatres and squares. From Canazei to Cavalese, all the way to Cembra: the Dolomiti Ski Jazz proposes also this year as many as 25 concerts. Warm rhythms such as jazz, but also blues, funk and Latin music will create thrilling contrasts with the snow-covered scenery of the Dolomites. Artists from the international scene will perform in the evenings in the clubs and theatres of the villages, while during the day they will take to the mountains, on the terraces of the mountain huts, some of which can also be reached by non-skiers. The festival will move day after day from one slope to another, from the Belvedere ski area in Canazei to the Alpe Cermis in Cavalese.
Dolomiti Ski Jazz: MolaFunk. Ciampolin Rifugio, Belvedere (Canazei). Friday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m.
MolaFunk was born from the idea of sharing a personal conception of groove through the compositions and arrangements of Trentino trumpeter Stefano Eccher. The group's performances range from original pieces to arrangements of artists such as Cory Wong, Vulfpeck, Nate Smith and Louis Cole, without forgetting the great funk classics. The repertoire pays homage to icons of the genre such as Jaco Pastorius, James Brown, Roy Hargrove and The Meters, offering the audience an enthralling journey into the world of groove.
Music band: Stefano Eccher (trumpet), Marco Van Bussel (alto sax), Michele Nascente (trombone), Nick Petrucci (guitar), Giulio Molteni (bass), Filippo Tonini (drums).
The concert is free of charge. The venue can only be reached on skis.
