RIFUGIO ESCURSIONISTICO CALTENA "BAITA DI CHARME"
This refuge was built in the sixties in a clearing facing the Vette Feltrine at about 1,200 metres above sea level, where the meadows give way to forest. It is the perfect place if you’re looking for a little relaxation in elegant rooms (there is also a sauna and wellness centre), if you love walking in mid-level mountains or if you appreciate good food. There’s also lots of outdoor space for children's games. The refuge (which has been completely renovated and can be easily reached from Primiero) is now run by a second generation of wardens. Open: From late March to 7 January Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks An easy path takes you to the Rifugio Fonteghi in nearby Val Noana in 1 hour 20 minutes. Continuing along the forestry track through Val Giasinozza, you will get to the Baita Cogolate (around 6 kilometres on undulating terrain). In summer 2015, the local CAI (Italian Alpine Club) restored and signposted several footpaths that start from the refuge, such as the no. 744 to Croce Padella (2 hrs 10 mins, difficulty E)
