Christmas Market in Rango
Inside the medieval village of Rango you will discover the authenticity of Christmas in Trentino!
As the nights draw in and the magic of Christmas turns to white, the (hi)story of Rango – officially one of Italy’s most beautiful villages – comes alive with local associations, artisans and farmers offering farm implements, wooden toys and farmhouse specialties at the unusual and magically authentic Christmas market.
It is where everything has remained as it always has been: in front of the stalls that once housed cows and goats, and under the “portech”, the covered passageways that still wind between the village houses and that once sheltered passing flocks and solitary travellers. In the “vòlt”, the cellars where farmers would keep the produce of the earth and traditional cured meats, and next to the fireplaces on the outer walls of the houses, away from the thatched roofs of the ancestors. Along the narrow streets of “salesà”, rustic irregular stones rounded by hooves and rain, and at the foot of the belltower and in Rango’s central square, with the smiling faces of the locals. This is where Christmas becomes a fairytale that can be read with your eyes.
