When the ski lifts arrived on Panarotta, mountaineers from the Pergine branch of SAT (Association of Trentino Mountaineers) decided to look for an unspoilt environment in the Valle dei Mocheni. They found it in the upper Val Laner where in 1978 the Rifugio Sette Selle was inaugurated. It was built over the ruins of an old hut from the Great War with local stone and, more importantly, help from all the members, who, over four seasons, carried up (by hand!) the materials needed for the construction. This refuge, renovated and enlarged in 2006, is now the western base for all admirers of the Lagorai Group. Open From mid-June to late September From Christmas to 6 January At weekends (including Fridays) and on public holidays during the rest of the year (Closed in November) Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks There are two ways to get to Lake Erdemolo, either by the “upper” route - path no. 324 - along the crests (3 ½ hours) or by the “low” route in about 2 hours. Both are within the reach of any walker (difficulty E). In the other direction, the walk to the Rifugio Giovanni Tonini takes 3 ½ hours (difficulty E).
