Built at 2.236 meters above sea level, the Mario Fraccaroli Refuge is the highest in the Small Dolomites, just below Cima Carega. It stands out for its magnificent panorama, which on clear days reaches the Dolomites and the Pale di San Martino, the Brenta Dolomites, Venice and the Adriatic Sea. Despite being in the Trentino area, the Refuge is owned by the CAI of Verona who in 1952 wanted to build a "high altitude house" for the many mountaineers and hikers who, as soon as they can, climb from the plain and find the first vertical walls in the Little Dolomites.
There is accommodation for 22 people on two floors, and a restaurant with a sun terrace that operates from mid-June to mid-September.
Walks
Cima Carega is a few minutes’ walk from the refuge without any particular difficulties.
