10 things to do in winter in Fai della Paganella

A terrace with a panoramic view of Valle dell’Adige

Fai della Paganella is a mountain village at 958 metres a.s.l., perched on a terrace with a panoramic view among the Brenta Dolomites, just a few kilometres from Andalo and Molveno. It’s the ideal choice for an active holiday where you can ski in a stunning natural setting or enjoy even without skis, thanks to the many snowshoeing trails that you can take through the woods.

It really is a destination to please everybody: families, sports lovers, and anybody seeking relaxation, in summer and winter. In fact, Fai della Paganella is something of a hot spot for all kinds of activities during the colder months, from ski mountaineering to snowshoeing and all sorts of excursions in the fresh air (which often end in lively evenings at our mountain huts). Naturally, there are also plenty of chances to try ski mountaineering and cross-country skiing. In fact, the Paganella Ski Area is not far from Fai della Paganella, with over 50 kilometres of ski slopes.

Out of these infinite options for fun and entertainment, we’ve gathered together 10 things to do in Fai della Paganella in winter in the list below!

#1

Explore the town, its stories and legends

In Fai della Paganella, traditions are still very much alive, rooted deep in the land itself. Its crop fields, themed trails and museums bring to life its culture and preserve its traditions, customs, and ways of life. And, if you’re the sporty type, ski lifts will carry you from the town all the way up to Cima Paganella (2,125 metres). There’s something for everybody!

#2

Skiing with a view

Paganella’s ski plateau is easy to reach from the Brenner motorway — 14 ski lifts and 5 moving walkways serving 30 slopes with different difficulty levels. As you’re skiing, you can also enjoy an unmatched view of the Italian Alps, the Valley of Lakes and Lake Garda itself!

#3

Fun and games on a snowy playground

The centre of the town of Fai della Paganella is home to the Paganella Fun Park. Here you’ll find a variety of slopes dedicated to bobsleighing, snow-tubing, and airboarding and a colourful play area with inflatables for the younger ones.

#4

Snowshoeing from Fai della Paganella to Monte Fausior

A remote and picturesque trail, exploring a hidden corner of the Paganella Plateau and, in particular, the mountain overlooking Fai, with stunning views from the peak across the entire Valle dell'Adige.

#5

Ski mountaineering on Paganella’s Tre-Tre slope

Through the silent woods of Paganella loops a trail that follows in the tracks of the historic Tre-Tre slope opened by Rolly Marchi, where he raced and defeated Zeno Colò. Nine km with an altitude change of 1,000 metres make for a trail you just can’t miss!

#6

Stroll along the Nature Trail

An exhilarating trail through the woods to discover the local flora, on the very edge of the plateau and with a stunning view of Valle dell'Adige and east Trentino. The trail is dotted with many panoramic viewpoints and leads to the Rhaetic archaeological site of Doss Castel.

#7

Ski at one of the top ski parks

Paganella is part of the Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta ski park. Inside the park, a single ski pass allows you to ski on 380 km of slopes and reach 8 resorts, thanks to 150 ski lifts.

#8

Cross-country skiing at Andalo

The cross-country skiing centre at Andalo, which winds its way all around a little natural lake, has a ski camp, a 2.5-km blue slope, a 3.8-km red slope, and a 5.5-km black slope.

Ideal for anybody trying their hand at cross-country skiing for the first time!

Relax at ACQUAin at Andalo

In nearby Andalo, you can immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of Nordic saunas, paired with a special wellness programme. Lots of pampering and relaxation whenever you need a break from skiing!
