Autumn getaway

In Paganella and Piana Rotaliana, Trentino-style pampering

The leaves of the larches coloured yellow, those of the beeches blazing in a deep orange. The contrast with the branches of the evergreens is spectacular. Below you see Lago Molveno, the mirror of the Dolomiti di Brenta. And all around you, the nuances that light up the deepest emotions. An autumn getaway in Trentino can be an unexpected gift.

You still don’t know exactly what you are going to do tomorrow. Perhaps another mountain hike, taking advantage of the fact that the funicular systems have extended their openings, a MTB tour or a walk in the woods, to get some relaxation. After all, the Altopiano della Paganella plateau is the ideal destination for experiencing days in the open air, especially in autumn, when the lake and mountains are quiet and the days are cooler.

Or you could take a detour through the vineyards of the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg, famous for the production of Teroldego, a fine wine with an intense ruby red colour. So, between tastings in wine cellars, village festivals and romantic dinners, you can also enjoy the pleasure of good food. After all, after so much sport you’ve certainly earned it!

Admiring the foliage

Of course, seeing the forests “catch fire” with the colours of autumn is a spectacular experience, which alone is worth the trip to Trentino. On the Altopiano della Paganella, then, there are several walks that lead to vantage points from which to enjoy a privileged view of these forests. You can find some of them here.

Feeling good in the forest

The appointments are from 6 to 15 September with the seventh edition of the  Orme Festival in Fai della Paganella and then on 19 October and 2 November with I Colori dell'Autunno (The Colours of Autumn) at the Parco del Respiro. Music, entertainment and sensory immersion in the forest when it is at its most beautiful.

Giro del Vino 50

A bike tour through the vineyards in the hills of the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg. You enjoy the view, the fresh autumn air and, when you feel like it, stop off at a wine cellar or distillery for an invigorating break. The tour is about 50 kilometres long and you travel it at your own pace, so you decide when the time is right for a tasty break.

Wine tastings

The Piana Rotaliana Königsberg is the cradle of the prized Teroldego, a wine that had its consecration at the banquets of the Council of Trent, almost 500 years ago! There are many wine cellars here that offer interesting tasting experiences that often include out-of-the-ordinary proposals, each one a revelation.

Sagra of the Ciuìga

This is the most eagerly awaited event in San Lorenzo Dorsino, a food festival to celebrate the Ciuìga, the ancient sausage made with white turnips, now a Slow Food presidium. Four days of heartfelt local festivities, involving gastronomy and folklore, in the streets and piazze among the old farmhouses. If you are in Trentino on those days, don’t miss the chance to drop in!

Autumn getaway in Paganella

Dolomiti Paganella in autumn is a slow experience, involving the 5 senses. Between foliage, walks around the lake, castles, suspension bridges and unmissable festivals: discover how to get your fill of autumn!
