The major cycling events in Trentino
Sellaronda Bike Day
On Saturday 8 June and 14 September, from 8.30 to 16.00, road traffic is restricted to allow the silence and nature of the Dolomites to come to the fore as protagonists of the Sellaronda Bike Day. The 53-km itinerary, with a 1637-m change in altitude, covers the Fassa, Gardena, Badia and Livinallongo valleys, and the Sella, Pordoi, Gardena and Campolongo passes: a huge array of climbs and descents that – weather permitting – brings together over 22,000 cyclists of all ages.
UCI Mountain Bike World Cup - XCO, XCC, DHI
From 13 to 16 June 2024, the Val di Sole, Italy’s only UCI Bike Region, will host the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup - XCO, XCC, DHI: four spectacular days of total adrenaline, evolution and businesses that will be remembered for many years. The race will feature the best of all kinds of mountain bike riders, from short track to cross country, from four-cross to downhill.
Maratona dles Dolomites
The Maratona dles Dolomites, scheduled to take place on Sunday 7 July, is a celebration of cycling in the Ladin valleys. In a single day, athletes and enthusiasts will tackle seven passes in the Dolomite mountains: Pordoi, Sella, Campolongo, Falzarego, Gardena, Valparola and Giau, all of which will be strictly closed to traffic.
Garda Trentino
What's new in Garda Trentino
A new mountain-bike trail is coming to Garda Trentino, descending from Malga Grassi towards Riva del Garda, in full compliance with the standards of the IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association). This new route, supervised by the Garda Rangers, became necessary due to the instability which has affected the land in the area of the original trail, leading to the planning of a new bypass around the zone subject to landslides.
What’s new in Val di Sole
Val di Sole is also known as Val di Sole Bikeland, and that is with good reason. Whatever your biking style — gravity, easy, MTB, road, Alpine gravel — there’s something here for everyone and for all biking passions, including international bike events. What’s more, the Val di Sole cycle path, which runs alongside the Noce river — cited by National Geographic as one of the world’s top 10 rivers for rafting, kayaking and canoeing — is even longer this year, with a new stretch open between the villages of Ossana and Vermiglio.
What’s new in San Martino di Castrozza
In the Tognola San Martino Bike Arena, a new flow line will be open from July 2024 for both beginner and expert bikers. The new addition will join the Jump Line which opened last summer at the entrance to the Colbricon Bike Park: an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride for highly experienced riders who are at their ease on a trail packed with ups, downs and parabolic curves as well as jumps with varying levels of difficulty.
What’s new in Dolomiti Paganella
In Dolomiti Paganella, spring will bring the opening of two new trails: at the end of May, the Interstellar will open up inside the Andalo Zone, while Supernatural by Pirelli will run from Selletta to Doss Pelà.
