Who is Brian Eno
Composer, producer, visual artist and activist, Brian Eno is considered an icon of international contemporary culture.
Becoming internationally famous in the early 1970s as a founding member of the British band Roxy Music, he went on to release a number of solo albums and to collaborate with other artists.
His work as a producer includes albums with Talking Heads, Devo, U2, Laurie Anderson, Nico, Marianne Faithfull, James and Coldplay, while his long list of collaborations includes recordings with David Bowie, Jon Hassell, Harold Budd, John Cale, David Byrne, Grace Jones, Karl Hyde and James Blakee.
Brian Eno’s visual experiments with light and video run parallel to his musical career, with exhibitions and installations around the world.
To date he has released over forty albums and exhibited his works all over the world: from the Venice Biennale to the Ritan Park in Beijing, from the Centre Pompidou in Paris to the Marble Palace in St. Petersburg, the Arcos da Lapa in Rio de Janiero and the curtains of the Sydney Opera House.
He is a founding member of the Long Now Foundation, a trustee of Client Earth and patron of Videre Est Credere. In April 2021, he launched Earth Percent, with the aim of raising funds from the music industry for charities working on the climate emergency.
