Centa San Nicolò
Fishing and hiking, the River Park and Acropark on the Rio Centa
Centa San Nicolò features a cluster of small traditional Alpine farmhouses and outlying administrative divisions, scattered along the entire Eastern flank of the Vigolana. Precisely these traditional Alpine farmhouses with their ancient origins attract visitors and interest.
Thanks to refurbishment works, the River Park of Centa streem has brought back to life buildings constructed along the water's edge - which powers mills and sawmills - giving visitors a glimpse of popular traditions, along with the chance to know and remember them.
Fully equipped trails for tours on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback allow travellers to experience this striking wilderness, its river banks and small white pebbled beaches, as well as the spectacular Valimpach waterfall. The Acropark Rio Centa is also located in these woods and is equipped with cables and platforms - installed on high-standing trees - so that both kid and grown-up visitors may enjoy sports and have fun.
During the First World War, the Austrians built a wide road on the opposite side of the valley, by digging the bare rock and connecting Caldonazzo to the plateaux. Small forts dating back to the Great War are still to be admired in Campregheri.
