What should I wear?
Short trousers are great but only in summer and with a good pair of knee socks. From September into autumn, to hike up to the refuges and attend the 'I Suoni delle Dolomiti' concerts, long trousers are always your best bet. They’ll keep you warm and protect you from any scratches and insect bites in the woods and meadows. A good technical windproof jacket and moisture-wicking undershirt will prove an excellent investment. We recommend dressing in layers, with underwear, a T-shirt and fleece plus the jacket. Something to protect you from the sun – like a baseball cap or bandana – is advisable too.
What about shoes?
Deciding on the right shoes for a mountain trek is never easy. The shops have so many brands and models to choose from. It all depends on the kind of walking you have in mind, of course, and how high you plan to go. We suggest a classic water-repellent boot with plenty of ankle support for multi-day hikes or a lighter trekking shoe if you’re only going to be out for a few hours.
