Arturo Brachetti will perform in Trento at the Teatro Auditorium Santa Chiara on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February 2025.
"Cabaret" takes place in Berlin, in the midst of the post-World War I economic depression, fertile ground for Hitler's totalitarian regime and the rise of the Nazi Party. Into this world enters Clifford Bradshaw, a struggling American writer in search of inspiration for his next novel. Cliff enters Kit Kat Klub, a seedy nightclub, where he meets Sally Bowles, a lively and talented cabaret artist, as well as a completely lost soul. Sally and Cliff begin a relationship that unexpectedly blossoms into a dream love story. Over time, however, the situation in Berlin changes from exciting and vital to threatening and violent.
With a decidedly Brechtian dose of provocation, Cabaret is a fierce musical, pushing the boundaries of form.
