Soraga - Pociace
Hike that, starting from Soraga, climbs the wooded western side of "Valacia" till reaching the beautiful panoramic plateau of "Pociace", with its peculiar forest bivouac.
Behind Hotel La Molinella, leave the cycling route (don’t step on the cross-country ski trail!) and take the forest road on the right, climbing right away steeply in the woods. At the crossroad keep left (turning right you’d get on the sensory/nature path, at the end of which you’ll reconnect with the road above). Get past "Fontana" area, where you’ll cross path no. 639. You’ll gain elevation again, alternating dense forests with wide clearings that offer panoramic windows on the valley. A long climb leads to "Pian dei Pantofoi"; from there, take path no. 616 and follow it up to the crossroad of "Pere Biance de Sora". Once reached the hairpin turn, the route’s southernmost point, ignore the branch on the right (Moena > Bait dal vent > Pesmeda). Now the route reverses direction, pointing northwards; following the dirt road uphill, go past the avalanche chute. With undemanding gradients, you’ll cover the last climbs, before descending towards "Pociace" plateau, where you’ll find the forest bivouac of the same name, which has available an open place in the winter, too. Before returning along the same route, it’s worth sitting on one of the many benches, to enjoy the view on Rosengarten group, with Roda de Vael standing out over the other summits.
