Mythical Charly Gaul climb
The legendary climb that, pedal after pedal, leads to the summit of Bondone
A beautiful and scenic climb that starts in the city of Trento and winds its way up narrow hairpin bends to reach the 1,456 m elevation gain and the town of Vason del Bondone.
The climb is made famous by the feat of Charly Gaul, a Luxembourgian rider and standard-bearer of the Faema team, who on June 8, 1956, during the Giro d'Italia arrived at the top of Monte Bondone on a day characterized by high winds and snow, exhausted but with a lead of nearly 8 minutes over his pursuers.

Coming out of the city, as we climb, there is a wonderful view of the Lagarina Valley and the town of Trento.
