Giro di Val Orsara

A true treasure chest of alpine nature, the jewel of the Alpe Cimbra. Here the beauty of the landscape blends with the integrity of nature, with the ancient silvopastoral activity of the Alpe, and with the typical mountain dishes that the Agritur Malga Vallorsara puts on the table.

The name recalls the presence of bears, now a thing of the past. It tells us, however, that this valley was once wild, frequented by hunters, shepherds and alpine dairymen, who brought (and still bring) their cows to pasture here. The beauty lies in the pastures, the coniferous forests and the breadth of the landscape that opens up from the upper part of the valley furrow. Towards the north, the mountain profiles of the Cornetto di Folgaria, Bècco di Filadonna and the Brenta Dolomite Group are unmistakable. The excursion has its highest point at the so-called Bocca di Val Orsara, a sort of pass leading to the Coe plateau. During the Great War, the Austro-Hungarian front line passed through here.
