Giro del Cherle

A short, panoramic walk on the summit of the Cherle ridge, in the eastern part of the Alpe di Folgaria. We are at an altitude of 1440 m, on the edge of the wide Fiorentini plateau, amidst broad pastures and extensive fir forests. The point of interest is Forte Cherle, a fortress from the Great War (1914-1918). The panorama is spectacular!

The route does not present any particular difficulties. It is short but allows a visit to Fort Cherle, an Austro-Hungarian fortress that was named Werk Sebastiano during the conflict. From the small square there is a wide panoramic view of the upper Astico valley, the village of San Sebastiano and Mount Cornetto. In the background is the unmistakable profile of Bècco di Filadonna.
