Christmas in the baroque palaces
Market and entertainment in the City of Velvet
Ninth edition of Christmas in Ala, a precious Trentino village that with its Baroque palaces will make you relive an atmosphere of times gone by.
Once again this year at the most magical time of year, the baroque town of Ala dresses up for the festivities.
Christmas in the Baroque palaces will provide an atmospheric and cosy experience in the elegant town that was home to the young Mozart. Ala’s most prestigious palaces will welcome visitors through their halls and hallways, to discover the handicrafts of artisans and the works of artists every Saturday from 1 pm to 7 pm and every Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm.
Travelling shows, concerts in the palace, exhibitions, horse-drawn carriage rides and interesting tours by lantern light with guides in 18th century costumes will entertain visitors every day. Special attention will be paid to families and children, the protagonists of Christmas, who will be able to participate in numerous entertainments, workshops, readings, games and snacks inside the palaces. There will also be travelling shows through the streets of the historical centre and appointments at the G. Sartori Theatre.
For the occasion, the main floor of Palazzo Taddei reopens to the public. After a long wait, it will be possible to admire the splendid, recently restored rooms and take part in guided tours curated by a Buonconsiglio Castle conservator. Every Saturday at 3.00 p.m. and every Sunday at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. by appointment (T. 0461 492811).
Local food and wine products, along with prestigious wines from local wineries, can be sampled in the warmth of the rooms of an elegant palace. Strolling delicacies can also be tried while exploring Ala’s historical centre. The food and wine stands are open every Saturday from 1 to 8.30 pm and every Sunday from 10 to 8.30 pm.
