“Tarcisio Trentin Collection” Ethnographic Museum
Popular culture and evidence of rural life
The museum in Telve di Sopra is divided into 12 themed sections containing 2,000 items and it covers spheres ranging from rooms in rural homes to farming and craft tools.
This museum showcases approximately 2,000 items from times gone by. They are all local objects that were donated to the Municipality of Telve di Sopra by Tarcisio Trentin. They paint a vivid picture of life in the past, when people spent their time in town, in “baite” (huts) halfway up the mountains and in mountain dairies. Exceptional attention to detail is shown in the displays in the museum, which is divided into 12 themed sections and covers spheres ranging from rooms in rural homes to farming and craft tools, especially those used for woodwork. There is also a look at wine making, fibre processing for textiles and locations stretching from the school classroom at the bottom of the valley to the “casera” (little house) in the mountain pastures.
In addition, there is an interesting section about childhood games.
