Museum of Contemporary Art – Cavalese
Documents, photographs and artworks from the Futurism to today.
From photography to sculpture and painting to video art: the Cavalese Museum offers an important look at contemporary art, in the heart of the Alps
Enjoy the conceptual complexity of contemporary art in the surroundings of a typical Alpine landscape. The ideal place to experience this original pairing is the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cavalese, in the halls of the historic Palazzo Rizzoli. The museum was founded in 2001 to host a rich collection of artworks given on loan, free of charge, by an avid collector.
Today, it is home to the permanent collection, temporary exhibits, and cultural events with the aim of celebrating the Alpine lands and their traditions, while at the same time seeking to promote avant-garde art. The pieces held in the museum include works of art by Italian and foreign artists working in the media of photography, graphic arts, design, video art, painting, sculpture, drawing and installation art.
