Museum Lùsern
Luserna, the final enclave of the Cimbrian language, attracts visitors with a delightful museum dedicated to history, nature and ethnography, designed to appeal to all
Since 1996, the Centro Documentazione in Luserna has organised major annual exhibitions which not only focus on the history and typical activities of the area, like metalworking from 3,000 years ago, the origins of the ancient Cimbrian language and the art of bobbin lace, but also explore other themes ranging from the role of the bear in Trentino’s folk culture to the architecture of the Alpine region.
Don’t miss the dioramas in the wildlife rooms, the material on the first world war (the “Fortresses on the Plateaus” and “Alphabet of the Great War” halls), and the House Museum, a real slice of life from times gone by.
