Opened officially on 7th May 2013, the Historical Museum of the Alpine School in Predazzo is a detachment of the well-known Historical Museum of the Guardia di Finanza, located in Rome.
Five broad and interconnected rooms characterize the exposition; the gallery explains the origins and the historical development of the most famous Training Institute of the “Fiamme Gialle”, created in Predazzo in 1920.
The Museum is to be considered as a veritable “Chest of alpine art”, offering visitors an overview of various artefacts, equipment and facilities created during the years both for skiing and for other alpine activities. A section of the museum is dedicated to the different historical events experienced by the Alpine School, showing both the affective bond which connects the Guardia di Finanza to Val di Fiemme, and the important role played by their soldiers during the war.
The Museum is accessible to blind people thanks to the explanations boards in braille, and blind visitors can even touch some of the shown objects.
