Casèl di Somrabbi
In the old turn-based dairy, built in 1858, an exhibition route has been set up that collects 127 special tools once used for traditional milk processing. It is a priceless testimony to the history and culture of Val di Rabbi, an expression of the social and economic organisation of Alpine civilisation. The layout has been designed to preserve the special features of the old milk workshop, highlighting traditional tools and processing techniques with an exhibition route that follows the cycle of dairy processing.
In the entrance hall, a large hearth and cauldrons, the symbol of the museum, strike the visitor's attention; they are accompanied by descriptive panels and evocative pictures show the most important stages of the milk processing process. The exhibition room next door is dedicated to the tools and furnishings that were customarily found in the cheese factories of yesteryear.
