Biblioteca Muratori
Discover a place dedicated to scholarship, with a high historical value. Founded in the eighteenth century, the "Libraria" commissioned by Gian Pietro Muratori houses a surprising collection of ancient volumes.
Founded in 1756 by Don Gian Pietro Muratori, the institution set itself a particularly ambitious and altruistic goal: to guarantee an opportunity for education to anyone who wanted it. A commendable example of a public library ahead of its time, the "Libraria", as it was once called, today belongs to the Parish of Santa Maria Assunta di Cavalese. You can visit this place, still located in its original location inside an eighteenth-century palace, by booking a guided tour. In its premises you will find about two thousand volumes almost equally divided between the publications collected by its founder, dating between 1500 and 1700, and the specimens from the decan library of Cavalese.
