Museo Garibaldino
Explore the Third Italian War of Independence and the First World War at the Museo Garibaldino of Bezzecca.
The relics and documents on display at the Museo Garibaldino of Bezzecca narrate one of the most famous episodes in Italian history. Here Garibaldi complied with his orders, pronouncing his famous motto "I obey" to General La Marmora, and committing - against his will - to leaving Trentino to the Austrians.
Documents and artefacts from the victorious battle fought by Garibaldi's troops against the Austrians during the Third Italian War of Independence (21 July 1866) are on display here. A section of the museum is dedicated to the First World War, since the area was the also theatre of the trench war between the Italian artillery and the Austro-Hungarian army.
Opening hours:
June-September from Wednesday to Sunday 10.00-13.00. Other periods on request.
