At the very beginning of Val di Fumo, at an altitude of 1778 meters at the foot of Adamello, there is a place where you can admire a spectacular example of coexistence between nature and human work. The Malga Bissina dam is nestled in the landscape in a truly evocative way, and by blocking the course of the Chiese river, it creates the artificial lake of the same name. The reservoir is among the largest in Europe and can hold up to 60 million cubic meters of water, whose power is transformed into clean energy at the Malga Boazzo hydroelectric plant. Thanks to the setup curated by the Dolomiti Energia Group, along with expert guides, you can enter the base of the dam and visit the stunning interior, discover the secrets of hydroelectric production, and relive the stages of the dam's construction in the 1950s through a new exhibition path, featuring historical photos and dizzying heights.
