The ancient roots of inclusive Alpe Cimbra
A Trentino experience for everyone
Alpe Cimbra is a border area with a history stretching back thousands of years.
It is a land rooted in an ancient identity. In Luserna, a protected language community, the Cimbrian language is still spoken. Traditions are carried on with passion and intensity. Flavours and culture keep the past alive. Yet, there is no lack of innovation and inclusive travel experiences.
You can find accessible experiences here in every season. Whether it is outdoor activities, museums, hospitality or the search for typical flavours, Alpe Cimbra welcomes you and ensures you don’t have to miss out on anything.
In summer
Numerous activities are available in summer.
You can choose from several hiking routes suitable for everyone, families with children and elderly people, untrained walkers and people with mobility impairments. The Scie di Passione professionals provide their specialised guides, joelettes to navigate even the most difficult trails, and Klick Monster, a wheelchair with off-road wheels and a motorised front wheel suitable for forest roads.
If you are passionate about cycling, there is a wide choice of accessible bike trails. Scie di Passione also allows you to rent a pedal-assisted handMTB and on your way you will come across Bike Hotels & Residences where you can stop, rest and find all the support your adventure requires.
Other outdoor activities to enjoy in summer are golf, kayaking, orienteering and tennis: here you can find options and information on accessibility.
If you love water activities, you can dedicate a day to Lake Lavarone, awarded with the European Blue Flag. An accessible path leads you to the shores of the lake and at the two lidos you can find beach wheelchairs for the disabled. You can walk the loop trail around the lake or indulge in water sports such as canoeing, always with the support of the Scie di Passione experts.
If you prefer a swimming pool to a lake, in Folgaria you can find a facility with all the facilities suitable for those with motor disabilities.
In winter
Winter also offers many accessible options to choose from.
Ski schools, in collaboration with Scie di Passione, are working to remove all barriers to snow activities. The lifts are equipped with turnstile and access facilities, while ski instructors and staff have received dedicated training to accommodate the needs of people with motor or sensory disabilities. There are reserved parking spaces, wheelchair-accessible restaurants and huts, and equipment that allows everyone to enjoy the thrill of the snow, such as monoskis, dualskis and “blind robots”.

Moments of relaxation
For moments of relaxation and refreshment, you can choose from eight barrier-free shelters, suitable for people in wheelchairs or those with mobility difficulties.
In Alpe Cimbra, even the cultural sites are accessible to people with special needs. Museums, parks retracing historical eras of the recent past, fortified buildings and farms: history and culture are open to all.
The following are accessible to disabled people:
- Base Tuono, a Cold War-themed display
- Lusérn Museum, a documentation centre that provides information on Cimbrian history and traditions
- Fort Belvedere, a perfectly preserved defensive stronghold
- Maso Spilzi, 18th-century architecture that today hosts temporary exhibitions, events and concerts
- the Honey Museum dedicated to the fascinating world of bees
