6 Top Nordic ski centers in Trentino

Looking for state-of-the-art facilities and reliable snow? You’ve come to the right place

In Trentino, geography has been kind to cross-country skiers. High plateaux, broad mountain passes and flat-bottomed valleys are scattered right across the region, and we’ve built on these natural advantages with a network of well-maintained Nordic ski centres. Many are set at 1500m or above. Several have their own snow cannons. Each is set in a stunning landscape.

Here, by way of a sample, are six of the best.

Viote - Monte Bondone

This busy ski centre is set at 1500m and offers a 35km network of well-maintained pistes, restrooms complete with showers, a restaurant and a ski school. Easy access from Trento makes it a popular choice with locals. So too the extraordinary views on the Brenta Dolomites and the Latemar Group.

Lago di Tesero - Val di Fiemme

A three-time host of the Nordic World Championships, Lago di Tesero offers 18km of cross-country trails, which are regularly topped up by snow cannons. As well as linking with the pistes of the famous Marcialonga ski marathon, the centre offers floodlit skiing on Tuesdays and Thursday from 5-9pm.

Passo di Lavazé, Val di Fiemme

One of our biggest Nordic centres, Passo di Lavazé offers 85km of trails, which wind through a pretty, forested landscape north of Cavalese. The trails are set between 1785 and 2025m, so the snow is almost always good: but just in case, 13km are also topped up with snow cannons.

Campo Carlo Magno, Madonna di Campiglio

Set beneath the sheer, western wall of the Brenta Dolomites, Campo Carlo Magno serves up stunning views as well as a super-snowy microclimate. The chic resort of Madonna di Campiglio is on the doorstep, too – so you can relax in style when the skiing’s done.

Passo Coe, Alpe Cimbra

Here an enchanting landscape of snow-topped huts, forest and meadows provides the setting for 34 km of pistes – FISI approved for national and international competitions.

Millegrobbe, Alpe Cimbra

No wonder it’s the setting for one of Europe’s biggest cross-country races. The Millegrobbe ski centre is set on a big, snowy plateau east of Lavarone, and is home to 35km of pistes, with links to the ski centre at Campolongo. The superb restaurant at the Malga Millegrobbe adds to the allure.
