Arriving in Trentino by train

If you travel by train to get to Trentino, you can forget all about traffic and snow in the winter months.

The main cities are Trento and Rovereto, served by long-distance trains stopping near the city centres. From here, you can reach all the villages in the valleys with the local transport network (see “Getting around Trentino”), with its train lines and bus service.

Love skiing? An innovative “road – rail – cable” system takes you from the centre of Val di Sole directly into the heart of the Folgarida – Marilleva – Madonna di Campiglio skiing area in just 12 minutes.

The train can also be a quick and relaxing part of your journey to Trentino. For example, from Verona airport it’s a short shuttle-bus journey to Verona Porta Nuova station, and from there Trento is only 40 minutes by train.

After your arrival in Italy, from Verona, Bologna and Roma train stations, you can choose the DB/ÖBB EuroCity trains to comfortably reach Trentino. All passengers travelling from Verona Airport (Valerio Catullo) will have the chance to buy a single ticket inclusive of ATV public bus shuttle service from the airport to the Verona Porta Nuova train station (bus every 20 mins from 5.30 till 23.00). The ticket will also include all DB-ÖBB EuroCity trains to Trentino destinations.

To the heart of the Brenta Dolomites by train
