The Rifugio Sandro Pertini is an essential stopping off point for the many hikers who follow the Friedrich August path in the summer. Built in the late eighties, right by the path and by a gigantic boulder on which children can test their climbing skills, the refuge gets it name from the former President of the Italian Republic who loved walking along these paths. Order a plate of polenta with mushrooms and venison, let the children have fun on the zip wire and enjoy the view that stretches from the Marmolada to the Catinaccio. Continuing, you can do the entire Sassopiatto and Sassolungo circular route (5 hours, difficulty E).
