Situated on the slopes of the Buffaure-Ciampac ski area, the Rifugio Buffaure is a large wooden chalet built in the seventies to serve the skiers (in winter) and walkers (in summer) who make their way up here from Pozza di Fassa. The terrace of the refuge offers splendid views of the Monzoni Group and the Vallaccia. In summer the focus is on our younger guests and their families: a trail - “Un bosco di emo zioni” (a forest adventure) - helps them discover the Alpine fauna. Open From 20 June to 20 September From early December to April Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks You can walk from the refuge to Sella Brunech via Val Giumela (2 hours, E) or along the high-level path to the summit of Sass d'Adam with its splendid views (1 ½ hours, difficulty EE). From Sella Brunech you can walk down into the Ciampac basin or continue to Passo San Nicolò along the Bruno Pederiva protected path (3 ¾ hours, difficulty EE).
