Malga Sasso Piatto
In the heart of the Dolomites, before the Marmolada
At 220 metres above sea level, in Val di Fassa, lies Malga Sasso Piatto. Thanks to its privileged position, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Sassolungo, the Sella range, and the majestic Marmolada, the “Queen of the Dolomites”.
Refurbished in 2016, the Mountain dairy is surrounded by ample meadows where, in summer, cows, sheep, goats and horses graze freely.
The best thing to do in the warmer months is to sit at the comfortable wooden tables outside and try the traditional dishes, made with raw materials produced right here. In particular, we suggest you try the homemade desserts: cakes, panna cotta and jam-filled fritters. On your way out, you can take a “piece of Trentino” with you, by buying the dairy’s products: cheeses, Speck, jams, and juices.
How to get there: from Campitello di Fassa you take the Col Rodella ski lift, which leads to an elevation of 2,413 metres. Following the signs, take the path, which is almost flat. You arrive at the mountain dairy after just over an hour and a half.
