Canticum Novum Ensemble coral in concert
Concert to celebrate 30 years of activity of the choir from Moena, conducted by Maestro Ilario Defrancesco, with the popular repertoire of sacred songs, also in Ladin language
"Canticum Novum" is a mixed a cappella choir from Moena, that celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. Founded in 1993 and directed by Maestro Ilario Defrancesco, it is made up of 32 elements coming from the Fiemme and Fassa valleys and has more than 300 concerts to its credit, with numerous national and international outings. In recent years, the ensemble has been flanking its sacred music repertoire with an ethnic programme, discovering new sounds typical of traditional songs from other cultures, European and otherwise. Great attention is paid to indigenous pieces, in particular those written by the local composer Luigi Canori, Father Frumenzio Ghetta and Stefano Dell'Antonio "Monech" and set to music by conductor Ilario Defrancesco, or unpublished contemporary pieces with texts in the Ladin language.
At 9 p.m. in the suggestive San Vigilio Church. Free admission.
