Psychoanalysis today: Tradition and Evolution
In Lavarone, in the picturesque landscape of the Alpe Cimbra loved by Freud, as per tradition for thirty years, from June 28th to July 1st, the 2024 edition of the Conference "The Frontiers of Psychoanalysis" will take place. This is a cultural event that since 1990 has aimed to promote dialogue between psychoanalysis and other scientific and cultural fields, allowing a broad and heterogeneous audience to freely and freely participate in book presentations, film screenings, conferences, and debates with high-level national and international guests of different backgrounds. This year, the Scientific Committee (composed of Simona Argentieri, Daniela Federici, Elisabetta Marchiori, Antonio Scaglia, Alberto Schön, Manuela Trinci, and Geni Valle) proposes the title "Respect and resonance." For information and registration, you can write to the Lavarone Library (lavarone@biblio.tn.it- 0464/783832) and visit the Facebook page @lefrontieredellapsicoanalisi.
In Lavarone, in the picturesque landscape of Alpe Cimbra beloved by Freud, as per tradition of thirty years, from June 28th to July 1st, the 2024 edition of the conference "The Frontiers of Psychoanalysis" will take place. This is a cultural event that since 1990 has aimed to promote dialogue between psychoanalysis and other scientific and cultural fields, allowing a wide and diverse audience to freely participate in book presentations, film screenings, conferences, and debates with high-level national and international guests from different backgrounds. This year, the Scientific Committee (composed of Simona Argentieri, Daniela Federici, Elisabetta Marchiori, Antonio Scaglia, Alberto Schön, Manuela Trinci, and Geni Valle) proposes the theme "Respect and Resonance." The starting idea is to emphasize the concept of "respect" in its implication of recognizing the rights, dignity, freedom, and feelings of others, the sharing of laws and rules based on justice and equity. Respect requires care and attention towards others and towards the world that surrounds us; it is a "regard" that presupposes that detached view, that pathos of distance that allows the recognition of the Other as an equal and different subject-object in a mutual relationship. The ethics of psychoanalysis has shown us the alterity that resides within us and must be recognized. This has been linked to the concept of "resonance," metaphorically understood as the communication of emotional information between humans and between humans and nature.
In the perspective of amplifying the resonances with the residents and places hosting the conference, a collaboration has been created with the ANIMA project. The story of ANIMA is told through an exhibition produced by Muse - Museum of Science of Trento, and through concerts, including the one we will listen to together at 9 pm at the Cinema Theater Dolomiti: "Four Seasons, four souls. Vivaldi's violin concerts performed with the instruments of ANIMA." This will take place after the opening of the conference, which will happen at 5:30 pm with the presentation of the book by Daniele Schön (cellist and Research Director of the Institute of Systems Neuroscience of Marseille) "Quattro. Stagioni, voci, quarti, mani (Il Mulino, 2023)." Saturday morning's work will be opened by Giovanni Costantini, who will illustrate the ANIMA project with the presentation "Respect for the ecosystem and the resonance of Avez del Prinzep." In the following two days, there will be prestigious speakers such as criminologist Adolfo Ceretti, psychoanalyst SPI Virginia De Micco, journalist Alberto Faustini, analytic psychotherapist Giuseppe Zanda, anthropologist Andrea Staid, and psychoanalyst AIPsi Jona Kozdine. Saturday evening will see the screening of the film "Logos Zanzotto" (Italy, 2021) by director Denis Brotto at the Cinema Theater Dolomiti, who will be present to discuss with the audience.
The conference will be concluded with the awarding of the prestigious "Gradiva Prize - Municipality of Lavarone," which this year goes to the book "La riparazione. Dentro e fuori la stanza d'analisi," edited by Maria Adelaide Lupinacci, Nicolino Rossi, and Irene Ruggero, published by Astrolabio in 2023. For "The pleasure of reading," which will follow on Monday, a meeting is planned with the intercultural expert essayist Vinicio Ongini.
The initiative is organized by the Gradiva Study Center, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lavarone, Lavarone Municipal Library "Sigmund Freud," Historical Museum Foundation of Trentino, Alpe Cimbra Tourism Agency, Trentino Library System Office, Avez del Prinzep Committee, and is supported by the Autonomous Province of Trento, Autonomous Region of Trentino Alto Adige, Cassa Rurale Vallagarina, Magnifica Community of the Cimbrian Plateaus, B.I.M. del Brenta, under the patronage of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society and the Italian Association of Psychoanalysis.
