Karlien de Villiers - Floating Solo
Cellar Contemporary opens its 2021 exhibition season with "Floating Solo", the first solo show in Italy by South African artist Karlien De Villiers.
Karlien De Villiers draws on the visual imagery of comics and illustration, which she uses to convey committed messages in a light-hearted way.
The works on display allude to the suspended feeling of floating, the natural state of the artist, who often finds himself/herself "sailing alone".
“Floating Solo” will open on 23 March at the Cellar Contemporary, and can be visited until 23 May 2021 (previous booking).
