Barcelona World's Music Ensemble
For the opening of the Val di Fassa Panorama Music festival, the Spanish quintet performs a poetic and musical journey dedicated to water
Water is the most precious thing in our world, in our life, in our surroundings. A commodity we use every day, many times without realising its value. Without water, our very existence would not be possible. Water is much more than matter. It is healing, illness, the tears that run down our skin, memory and memories. Water is freedom, it is knowledge. It is the rivers of love that fill our souls. It is the imprint of life. This free water that fills our land, which in remote antiquity belonged to no one, but to nature, to every being that formed part of the world, at what point did it become a weapon of separation, of class, of difference? Who decided how to divide this good that belongs to no one and at the same time to everyone? All that shines is not water. How can it be that such pure matter is the cause of misfortune, disease and war? What have we done? What do we want to do in the future? The performance is a journey around the world, through different countries, cultures and music. The musical pieces will be interspersed with poems and texts that will make people think. The audience will listen, see and each person will decide what their final thought is. What is water, what do we want to do, what have we done, who are we, who will we be...?
